Tygart Valley Orthopedics was founded in 1996 by Dr. Richard E. Topping and Dr. Lucas J. Pavlovich. Over the years, our practice has grown to include physician's assistants, Alicia Harper and Linda Little. Our staff prides itself on combining the friendliness and familiarity of a small town environment with the subspecialty expertise to treat various orthopedic conditions at the highest standard of care. By offering a variety of clinical and surgical orthopedic services in a "patient first" environment, the doctors and staff at Tygart Valley Orthopedics will ensure a healthcare experience of the highest quality. Our practice is based in Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia although we have  satellite offices, staffed monthly, for your convenience in Moorefield, Hardy County and St. George, Tucker County, West Virginia as well.

Dr. Topping and Dr. Pavlovich perform surgery and inpatient care at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. It was named "Best Joint Care Hospital in West Virginia" recently by a nationally recognized health care reporting agency.

Our goal at Tygart Valley Orthopedics is to provide customized hands on care to each patient, which will best meet their individual needs and lifestyle. An important part of this is the physician assistant. They often provide initial screening and treatment planning to try to decrease the length of the initial wait to get your care under way.

Tygart Valley Orthopedics has onsite imaging capabilities of x-ray to diagnose and guide treatment of all orthopedic conditions. Finally, we have recently added musculoskeletal ultrasound. This will allow us to diagnose many tendon conditions such as rotator cuff tears in a cost effective, speedy and accurate fashion.
